Indian Artist to create artworks in Taiwan

TAIWAN: Sunil Gawde a well known Indian Contemporary artist along with 8 artists from other countries, have been invited by the Taiwan Ministry of Transportation and Communications to adorn the Taiwan Taoyuan MRT line. He is to create a public art installation for the airport subway line.

The project aims to beautify public areas, create cultural landmarks, build up the global reputation of Taiwan and its artists, and raise international travelers’ recognition of Taiwan’s public transportation system. Other artists include Daniel Rozin of the U.S., Florian Claar of Germany, Japanese “art unit” Paramodel, along with Taiwanese artists Tao Ya-LunLin Jiun-TingLai Pei-YuJen Ta-Hsien and the collective Luxury Logico.The installations are currently set to be completed by October 2014.
