New York: Universes in Universe is one of the oldest and best-known art websites, in operation since its inception in 1997, merely four years after it became possible to include images in HTML pages on the Internet. Developed by German curator and critic Gerhard Haupt and Argentine artist Pat Binder, this online portal brings forward the best of contemporary art from Central and Latin America, Asia and Africa. Based in Berlin, the website also publishes the Nafas Art Magazine in association with the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations, which focuses on art from North Africa to Southeast Asia.
